Guanyu Zhao is a photography-based artist currently residing in Los Angeles.

He received his BFA from China Academy of Art and MFA from California Institute of the Arts.

In addition to traditional photographic projects, he uses a variety of materials to create new visual experiences by combining images, often using the body of the self to explore politics, authorship & iconography, private emotions & public links, personal narratives & collective memory, and more.
